Severe cold weather has gripped the country as temperature in many parts continues to ebb to freezing level. According to Met Office, temperature reduced to -12 degree centigrade in Kalat and Kalam on Friday while temperature in Skardu was -11 degree centigrade. In Astore temperature was -10 degree centigrade, Quetta and Hunza -9 degree centigrade each, and Rawalakot and Gilgit -6 degree centigrade.
The met office forecast mainly dry and cold weather in most parts of the country. It said foggy/misty conditions are likely to prevail over some plain areas of Punjab, Khyber Pukhtunkhwa, and Sukkur division. However, most parts of the country are likely to remain under the grip of severe cold wave.
In the last 24 hours, weather in Karachi remained dry with minimum 8 degree centigrade and maximum 24 degree centigrade It says the city's temperature is also expected to remain dry with maximum temperature ranging between 8 degree centigrade and 9 degree centigrade in the next 24 hours.
