Sindh police on Friday claimed to have killed an alleged bandit while two other managed to escape during brief encounter in the limits of Malir Cant police station. According to police and rescuers, the police party intercepted three bandits at Link Road near Mehran Bridge when they were busy in looting valuables from the passers-by.
Bandits reacted on the said action and opened indiscriminate firing on police party just to manage to flee from the scene. On police retaliation, one bandit was killed while two other escaped from the spot.
Police said the bandit, who was identified as Ali Sher, son, of Mohammad Bux, hailed from Muzaffargarh Punjab. Police said they had also recovered a TT pistol from his possession. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for legal formalities and later moved to Edhi Morgue as nobody claimed his body. A case was registered against unidentified bandits on the complaint of state and initiated probe in this connection.
