Conspiracies being hatched to dislodge elected government: Prime Minister

Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani has said that conspiracies are being hatched to remove the government but said that the people of the country have to decide whether they want elected government or dictatorship. Speaking at the launching of photographic exhibition here on Thursday at Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA) Gilani regretted that closed-door conspiracies against the elected governments started soon after the creation of the country and 1956 Constitution was abrogated in 1958.
The governments of Prime Ministers Liaquat Ali Khan, Zulifqar Ali Bhutto, Benazir Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif had been thrown from the power on allegations. Gilani said that allegation of traitors to the politicians had led to the disintegration of the country. He said that dictatorship was responsible in the past for the break up of the country, adding that it was great insult to prefer wisdom a few over 180 million people of the country. The Prime Minister said that wanted a parliamentary system in the country through elected people and gave credit to the incumbent government of restoring the 1973 Constitution in its original form. The Prime Minister said that President Asif Ali Zaradri transferred all his power to the Parliament.Gilani said that youth, who had participated actively in the movement of Pakistan, are the future of the country
Gilani also announced Rs 2.5 million for National Archives and said that his government has highest regard for army and they have the ownership of the masses in the war against terrorism. Earlier Secretary Cabinet Division Nargis Sethi in her address of welcome threw light on the importance of the national archive and said it is being developed on scientific lines.
