Seminar on Ahmad Nadeem Qasmi held

The Intern-ational Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) organised a seminar on the life and achievements of famous Urdu writer and columnist Ahmad Nadeem Qasmi. The first session of the seminar was inaugurated by Rector IIUI, Professor Fateh Muhammad Malik and chaired by Ata ul Haq Qasmi, Chairman Pakistan Arts Council, while the second session was chaired by renowned poet Intizar Hussain.
Dr Sadia Tahir, Dr Rawish Nadeem and Dr Nawazish Ali presented papers on life, personality and achievements of Ahmed Nadeem Qasmi. Atta ul Haq Qasmi speaking on the occasion said Ahmed Nadeem Qasmi was a great poet, intellectual and lover of human beings and the gap left by his death could not be filled.
Intizar Hussain sharing his views said Ahmed Nadeem Qasmi was a man of great calibre. "He was progressive, intellectual and great journalist, a man of commitment and remain committed through out his life to his principles", he remarked. He quoted, Professor Fateh Muhammad Malik in his book "Nadeem Shanasi" has excellently presented Ahmed Nadeem Qasmi, as a great poet of Urdu literature.
Rector International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), Professor Fateh Muhammd Malik said Ahmad Nadeem Qasmi played a pivotal role in projecting the problems of people and that of society. He said late Ahmed Nadeem Qasmi was a great poet and a national asset. President IIUI Dr Mumtaz Ahmed Chairman National Language Authority (NLA) Dr Anwar Ahmed, Dean faculty of Languages and Literature IIUI, Dr Rasheed Amjad and Director Female Campus Qasirah M. Alvi also paid homage to Ahmed Nadeem Qasmi in recognition of his countless services. In the end Professor Fateh Muhammad Malik presented university crest to Imtiaz Hussain, while Dr Mumtaz Ahmed presented university crest to Atta ul Haq Qasmi.
