Karachi Electric Supply Company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Karachi Dairy Farmer Association that marks completion of the on-site testing phase of Bio Waste to Energy Project - a venture that aims to produce electricity from cattle manure from Landhi farms.
Under the memorandum, Dairy Farmers Association would supply from 3,500 to 4,000 tons of cattle waste on daily basis to KESC to be used as feedstock to produce bio-gas required for electricity generation. This new landmark step will facilitate waste collection studies, project implementation and rollout of many socio-economic initiatives in the Landhi area.-PR
