Bandit escapes from police custody

An alleged bandit on Thursday escaped from police custody in the limits of Khokhrapar police station. According to police sources, the accused Saeed Khan, who was arrested on December 12, 2011 under section 392 of Pakistan Penal Code from Khokhrapar, managed to flee from police custody on early Thursday.
They said the accused person was released by Sub-Inspector, Malik Amin and Constable, Mukhtiar Ahmad from lockup for treatment when he pretended to have severe pain in stomach. Later, after taking medicine, this alleged bandit escaped under the cover of during electricity load-shedding. They said the police had conducted several raids to nab the said accused person but they were still unable to yield fruits in this regard. Meanwhile, these two responsible police personnel were sent to lockup and inquiry in this regard has been initiated.
