Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 81,016 tonnes of cargo comprising 46,859 tonnes of import cargo and 34,157 tonnes of export cargo including 5,349 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 46,859 tonnes comprised of 29,100 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,060 tonne of general cargo and 16,699 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 34,157 tonnes comprised of 22,304 tonnes of containerised cargo; 5,655 tonnes of general cargo; 6,198 tonnes of bulk cargo: 2,716 tonnes of rice and 3,482 tonnes of cement. Four ships namely Al-Mirqab, Lindavia, Wan Hai-603 and Analips Lady carrying three container ships and one oil tanker respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Four vessels viz Hyundai Colombo, CS Discovery, Lt Trieste and Prestige New York with three container ships and one vehicles carrier respectively are currently at the berths. One palm oil tanker namely Cedar Galaxy sailed out to sea on Tuesday, while two container ships namely CS Discovery and OEL Trust are expected to sail on Wednesday.
Three ships namely APL Japan, APL Brisbane and UBC Cyprus with two container ships and one cement carrier due to arrive on Tuesday, while five vessels viz Danica Sunrise, Nagogini, Jakarta Express, Alliance St. Louis and Mandarin Trader carrying one general cargo ship, one chemical carrier, one container ship, one vehiclas carrier and one talcum powder ship respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday.

The total export cargo of 8,829 tonnes includes 3,998 tonnes of rice and 4,831 tonnes of cement. One furnace oil tanker MT Al-Buhaira sailed out to sea Tuesday morning, while three ships namely MT Enrico Ivoli with chemicals, MV SC Dalian carrying edible oil and CV Deike Rickmers with containers are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of six vessels MV Fisher-K, MV Ionian Sea, MV Golden Ambrosia, MT Al-Buhaira, MT Enrico Ivoli and MV SC Dalian are currently occupying berths to load/offload cement, rice, chemicals, furnace oil and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.
As many as eleven ships namely Sapphire-II, Afamia, Cape Tampa, Paiute, Pantagonia Gas, Emex S, SC Stealth, Deike Rickmers, Al-Noof, Sealand Michigan and Al-Soor-II with scheduled to load/offload cement, rice, diesel oil, canola seeds, LPG mix, chemicals, edible oil, containers and diesel oil respectively are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim.
A total number of six vessels viz Deike Rickmers, Al-Noof, Sealand Michigan, Cape Tampa, Paiute, Pantagonia Gas and SC Stealth scheduled to load/offload carrying containers, diesel oil, LPG mix and edible oil respectively are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Tuesday.
