The first Lahore Veteran Champion Cricket Trophy was started here at Model Town Ali Garh Cricket ground on Saturday. As many as 8 teams are participating in the event. In the opening match, Textile Tigers won by 9 wickets. Batting first, Golden Eagles scored 205/9 in 30 overs.
Muhammad Ejaz Ashraf 42, Karamat Ali 35, Asif Mehmood 37, Muhammad Zahid 29 and Faisal Perzada 26 were main batsmen. Khalid Habib 3/33, Hafiz Saeed 2/43, Maqsood 2/31, Asif Qureshi 1/7 & Saleem Iqbal 1/30 were main wicket takers for Textile Tigers. In reply, Textile Tigers achieved the target 209/1 in 28.1 overs. Muhammad Riaz 91, Asif Qureshi 89 not out and Rizwan Nisar 12 not out were main batsmen. Cricketer Zahoor Ilahi gave away man of the match award to Muhammad Riaz.
