CCTV cameras installed in all sensitive areas

Modern close circuit television cameras have been installed at the route of main procession of Zuljinnah and important points of Majalis in the city for security purpose. Capital City Police Officer, Ahmad Raza Tahir told APP here on Friday that on the special directive of Chief Minister Punjab, a heavy contingent of armed police personnel had been deployed on duty during Muharram-ul-Harram.
He said integrated security teams equipped with sophisticated weapons have started round-the-clock patrolling in wireless fitted jeeps and pick-ups in all the sensitive areas. He said, all divisional Addl. SSP, SDPOs and SHOs have been directed to check the vehicles with unauthorised revolving blue lights, tainted glasses and green number plates.
Tahir said additional force would be deployed in the areas identified as 'A' 'B' category trouble spots to maintain religious harmony. He said reserve police would also assist the local police. The CCPO said Pakistan Rangers would assist the police and civil administration for effective law and order. He said leaves of police personnel have been cancelled. He said that nobody was allowed even 'station leave' during weekly offs. He said patrolling position of SSP, ASs/DSPs and SHOs would be checked through wireless by him personally and by special surveillance teams.
