The Karachi Port handled 77,757 tonnes of cargo including 52,983 tonnes of import; 24,774 tonnes of export cargo and 5,281 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) during the last 24 hours of business activities ended at 0700 hours on Wednesday.
The total import cargo of 52,983 tonnes comprised of 20,168 tonnes of total containerised cargo; 5,810 tonnes of b bulk cargo and 27,005 tonnes of oil or liquid cargo. The total export cargo of 224,774 tonnes comprised of 20,161 tonnes of total containerised cargo; 4,243 tonnes of b bulk cargo and 370 tonnes of cement.
There are four vessels namely M T Karachi, Al-Nouf, Y M America and Caribbean Sea carrying tankers and containerised cargo respectively were sailed out to the sea during the reported period of 24 hours of business activities on Wednesday. There are seven vessels namely Seychees Prelude, President Jackson, Greenwich Bridge, Abdul Latif S, WO Long Song, Liberty Promise and Kota Arif are currently occupying the berths at Karachi Port to load/offload tankers, containerised cargo, bulk, general cargo, vehicles carriers and containerised cargo during the business hours at the port.
A total number of four vessels namely Liberty Promise, Greenwich Bridge, Seychelles Prelude and kota Arif are expected to sail out to the sea on Wednesday. Three is only one vessel namely Marcampania carrying containers is due to arrive on Wednesday.
The total export cargo volume comprised of 18,091 tonnes including 2,296 tonnes of cement and 15,795 tonnes of containerised cargo were handled during the reported period of the activity hours on Wednesday. There are three cargo vessels namely C V CMA CGM Mozart, M T Chemroad Hope and M T Guana Raba sailed out to the sea on Wednesday. While another vessel namely C V Al-Farahidi is expected to sail on Wednesday.
A total number of seven vessels namely C V CMA CGM Mozart, C V Al-Farahidi, M V Fisher-K, M V Zeynep-K, M T Battery Park, M T Guana Raba and M T Chemroad Hope are currently occupying the berths to load/offload containers, cement, canola seeds, phosphoric acid, furnace oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours of business activities at the port on Wednesday.
There are five vessels namely Ionian Sea, M V Sunrise Wisteria, C V CMA CGM Rossini, Nysted Maersk and C V ACX Habiscus carrying rice, palm oil and containers respectively after loading/offloading are currently to line up at the outer anchorage respectively on Wednesday. The total number of three vessels C V CMA CGM Rossini, C V ACX Habiscus and M T Sunrise Wisteria carrying containers and palm oil are due to take births at QICT LCT respectively on Wednesday.
