Vision & Objectives: UAE Expo 2011 is scheduled to be held under the auspices of the UAE Karachi Consulate Office - Commercial Division, with a vision to fortify the trade and commerce ties between the UAE & Pakistan. The event will feature an extensive display of fine quality UAE manufactured goods and services.
The UAE Expo 2011 is aimed to gather both industry stakeholders and general public to witness the significant growth and potential of socio-economic collaboration between the two countries.

Pakistan - UAE Relations: A glorious bond of friendly nations!
Pakistan and the UAE relations are blessed with deep-rooted cultural affinities, shared faith, as well as traditional and geographical proximity. The relations have evolved since the UAE formation in 1971, further extending and strengthening the wide-ranging economic co-operation and mutual contributions for a common good. Both the countries consent on all regional and international issues. The time-honoured relations are based on the strong pillars of joint trading and collaborative understanding. The foundation of these exemplary relations was laid by the founder of modern UAE, late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, a clear evidence of his insightful thinking and vision.
About a million skilled and semi-skilled Pakistanis are working in the UAE to play a great part in fortifying Pakistan's foreign reserves by sending regular remittances. Pakistan is one of the biggest recipients of UAE aid in the wake of 2005 earthquake, IDP's of Swat and recent flood devastations. Apart from the assistance during the hard times, UAE is ever keen to help Pakistan for development projects and meet budgetary deficits. The UAE is also a major investor in Pakistan's key sectors like oil and gas, telecommunications, real estate, aviation, banking and energy.
The fraternal connection between UAE & Pakistan is time-tested and appears overwhelming especially whenever there's a crisis situation. The recent demonstration of the UAE's philanthropic support was observed when devastating floods ruined most parts of the country and affected millions of people. The President of the UAE, his highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan ordered urgent delivery of relief material to shelter displaced people in the flood hit areas. The government and people of the United Arab Emirates also responded immediately to the emergency needs of survivors following the earthquake disaster which claimed 80,000 lives and rendered 3.5 million homeless back in 2005.
Apart from these hard-times, the UAE has proved its all-time support and pledge for the people of Pakistan, a rare piece of unconditional care and help. According to the UAE Foreign Aid Report (2009), the UAE government and donor organisations granted DH 9 billion (US $2.45bn) in foreign aid in 2009. Pakistan was one of the biggest recipients receiving up to AED 1.60 billion ($436.7 million). The UAE committed grants of worth AED 998.5 million ($270 million) through Abu Dhabi Fund for development in response to the submission of project proposal by the Government of Pakistan. Health was the main sector to receive AED 349.9 million. The report reveals that AED 183.1 million was spent on humanitarian assistance, almost third of the total aid.
Both the countries maintain long-standing and close friendly relations since the very beginning. It has been an integral part of the UAE leadership's vision to support Pakistan not only during the times of crises but also work towards maintaining Pakistan's comprehensive security, stability, economic progress and prosperity.
