Funeral prayer of 24 martyred soldiers offered

The funeral prayers of the soldiers martyred on Saturday in Nato air strikes were offered with full military honours amid tight security arrangements here in Peshawar garrison on Sunday. Army helicopters were seen hovering around the Corps HQ during funeral prayers.
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Masood Kauser, KP Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti, Corps Commander Lieutenant General Asif Yasin Malik, Inspector General FC Major General Nadir Zeb, Railways Minister Ghulam Ahmad Bilour, KP Minister Bashir Ahmad Bilour and other high military and civil officials attended the funeral prayers.
The coffins of martyred soldiers were wrapped in national flags The bodies of the martyred soldiers were later dispatched to their respective native towns for burial.
The martyred soldieries were identified as Munawar Hassain, Mumtaz Hussain, Tariq Maqsood, Meharban, Muhammad Ibrahim, Naeem Akhtar, Ghulam Raza, Tahir Iqbal, Muhammad Mushtaq, Muhammad Tahir, Nasir Hussain, Manzoor Hussain, Abdur Razzaq, Ghulam Abbas, Muhammad Mushtaq, Muhammad Imran, Azhar Abbas, Rizwan Abbas, Najeebullah, Amjad Khurshid, Muhammad Shakeel, and Muhammad Aslam.
