Two anti-Nato demonstrations were staged in Multan by the member of civil societies, Muslim League-N, and traders to condemn the Nato/Isaf attack on security forces check post. More than 300 demonstrators burnt the US flags and they termed the air strike as a direct attack on the sovereignty and integrity of Pakistan saying, "Only warnings on the part of Pakistan Army and the government to US and Nato allies will not do work this time rather every US citizen should be kicked out from Pakistani soil".
Pakistan should not spare this "open violation of its territory" this time rather it should raise this matter with Nato allies on highest level, they said. They also demanded compensation for the families of martyred personnel. They were carrying placards and banners inscribed with slogans," Down with America," Down with Nato," stop drone attack," Yankees- Go back, "vacate Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Addressing the demo Makhdoom Javed Hashmi a senior leader of Pakistan Muslim League termed the Nato air strike as an attack on the integrity and sovereignty of Pakistan. He demanded of the government to part its ways with USA over the war against terror and block Nato supplies at once Tariq Naeem-ullah Khan President of United Citizens Alliance said, "We condemn Nato attack on Pakistani check-posts in severest words." He said that this was the brazen violation of Pakistan's territory and sovereignty.
He also said that merely writing a note not to be enough rather this issue must be raised at the highest level including Nato allies, which guaranteed that in future such action would not be taken. Politicians, teachers, religious scholars, students and general public, while denouncing the Nato gunship helicopters' air strike on Pakistani check-posts in Mohmand Agency martyring 27 security personnel, have demanded of Chief of Army Staff (COAS) to give US/Nato a matching response and the government to pull out from the war on terror.
