Iraqi Ambassador in Pakistan Dr Rushdi Mahmood Rasheed called on Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif here on Sunday and discussed with him bilateral relations, matters of mutual interest and cooperation in various sectors. Member National Assembly Sardar Ayyaz Sadiq and Chairman Planning and Development were also present on the occasion.
Talking to Iraqi Ambassador, Shahbaz Sharif said that Iraq is a brotherly Islamic country of Pakistan and there is a need of further enhancing ties between both the countries. He said that besides cooperation in development of various sectors, Punjab is ready to send manpower to Iraq for its reconstruction and rehabilitation work. He said that Iraq can also import wheat, rice, cement, machinery and other products from Pakistan. He also informed the Iraqi Ambassador about the initiatives taken for the development of the province and prosperity of the people.
