The Karachi Port handled 127,559 tonnes of cargo including 91,477 tonnes of import, 36,082 tonnes of export cargo and 5,671 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) during the last 24 hours of business activities ended at 0700 hours on Saturday. The total import cargo of 91,477 tonnes comprised of 44,549 tonnes of total containerised cargo; 4,904 tonnes of general cargo; and 42,024 tonnes of oil or liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 36,082 tonnes comprised of 32,331 tonnes of total containerised cargo; 1,051 tonnes of general cargo and 2,700 tonnes of oil or liquid cargo.
There are three cargo vessels namely M T Chem Bulk Singapore, M T Fair Spirit and M V Iron Kalypso sailed out to the sea on Saturday morning. A total number of seven vessels namely M V Ikan Tambak, M V Fisher-K, M V MSC Catania, M T Chem Bulk Singapore, M T Fair Spirit, M T Iron Kalypso and M V Fonthida Naree are currently occupying the berths to load/offload rice cargo, containerised cargo, canola seeds, sunflower seeds, palm oil tankers and furnace oil respectively during the last 24 hours of business activities at the port on Saturday.
There are six vessels namely M V Zey Nep-K, M T Guana Bara, M T Stolt Zulu, M T Golden Ambrosia, M T Al-Khalida and M T Al-Salam-II carrying canola seeds, furnace oil, palm oil, chemical, furnace oil and diesel oil tanker respectively after loading or offloading are currently to line up at the outer anchorage respectively on Saturday. The total number of two vessels M T Stolt Zulu, M T Golden Ambrosia and M V Zey Nep-K are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Saturday.
