Divisional Commissioner Tahir Hussain has urged upon the Ulema of all sects to forge unity among their ranks and sincere efforts should continue for strengthening the sentiments of religious harmony and brotherhood during Muharram ul Harram.
Presiding over a meeting of Divisional Peace Committee held here at Circuit House on Saturday, he appreciated the exemplary role of the Ulema for maintaining religious harmony and law and order situation and said that their co-operation was vital for the success of Muharram arrangements. He informed that the elaborated security and administrative measures had been finalised for peaceful observance of Muharram. He stressed that vigilant eye should be kept on miscreants and should not believe on rumours.
RPO Aftab Cheema informed the participants about the security plan in the region and appreciated the co-operation of Ulema of all sects for durable solution of different religious issues. He said that any lacuna and shortcomings in security arrangements should immediately be identified for its timely rectification. MPA Kh. Muhammad Islam said that the public representatives would extend all out co-operation for maintaining law and order situation. During the meeting the Ulema reiterated their resolve to maintain peace and religious harmony and said that any mischievous act against the peace and harmony would be crushed with complete unity.
RPO Aftab Cheema, MPAs Kh. Muhammad Islam, Anjum Safdar, Mian Rafique, Jual Amir Sahutra, Rai Ejaz Hussain Kharal, DCO Jhang Shahid Niaz, DCO TT Singh Javed Iqbal Bukhari, SAO Khalid Manzur, ACR Mahr Shafqatullah Mushtaq and other members of Divisional Peace Committee attended the meeting.
Later, prayer was offered for the peace, national solidarity and fraternity. Among others Sahibzada Zahid Mehmud Qasmi, Maulana Muhammad Yousaf Anwar, Syed Jafar Naqvi, Mufti Zia Madni, Haji Sh. Bashir Ahmad, Jamil Fakhri, Maulana Abdul Aleem Yazdani, Qari Afzal Qadri, Maulan Riaz Kharal, Abbas Haider Sh, Amanullah Sial, Maulana Abdul Mueed and Maulana Masud Ahmad were present in the meeting.
