The purpose of the broadcast media is to educate and entertain people. The media is called the fourth pillar of the state. The Pakistani media has improved a lot in a very short time. However, some aspects of this scenario need to be reviewed. The entertainment news broadcast by most of our famous TV channels, often pick such items that seem obscene, inappropriate and indigestible.
The channels pick shots from vulgar Indian/Pakistani movies, songs and similar items that project a very bad image of the country in the name of 'entertainment'. One of such example was the broadcast of the obscene Paris catwalk just minutes before Iftar last Ramazan in the main news bulletin of a channel. Such entertainment news doesn't project the image of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, at all.
