Senior Advisor to Chief Minister, Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa has said that Islam is a religion of peace and tranquillity and its enemies are making futile efforts to malign it. There is a dire need of spirit of sacrifice at this crucial juncture, he added.
He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting of ulema, mashaikh, Members Ittehad Bainul Muslimeen Committee and Muttehida Ulema Board in connection with Moharram-ul-Haram. Khosa said that government has made foolproof security arrangements from the beginning of Moharram to Chehlum and peace committees comprising local ulema from all schools of thought have been constituted under the supervision of members' cabinet committee up to the tehsil level.
Besides divisional level, monitoring cells have been set up at district level, he added. He stressed promotion of unity, national solidarity, sectarian harmony, adding that ulema from all schools of though will have to display patience in order to foil nefarious designs of the anti-state forces.
Ulema, while speaking on the occasion, lauded the efforts of Punjab CM, Muhammad Shahbhaz Sharif for the maintenance of environment of religious harmony and brotherhood. Chairman Ittehad Bainul Muslimeen Committee, Pir Ameer ul Hasnat, Ghulam Muhammad Sialvi, Maulana Muhammad Hussain Akbar, Maulana Anees Jullandhry, Haider Ali Mirza, Maulana Zubair and Maulana Raghib Naeemi emphasised upon the need of Muslim unity during Moharram and said they will display harmony and unity during the month. They said that if ulema unite, the society could be purged of all evils. They said that like previous years, they will also support the peace efforts of government so that enemies could not hatch any conspiracy during these days.
