Chief minister constitutes committee to examine nurses' demands

Chief Minister Punjab here on Friday took notice of the protest of nurses. Dr Saeed Elahi, MPA and Parliamentary Secretary Health Punjab held two hours long negotiations with the protesting nurses and their leaders. As a result of negotiations nurses have postponed their protest.
Dr Saeed Elahi disclosed that Chief Minister Punjab has immediately constituted a committee for accepting the genuine demands of nurses. This committee will comprise of Law Minister Rana Sanaullah, Parliamentary Secretary Health Dr Saeed Elahi, Advisor to Chief Minister Begum Zakiya Shahnawaz and other parliamentarians, which will meet a delegation of nurses on Saturday (today) at 11:00 am.
According to details, the protesting nurses have nominated their 14 representatives. Dr Saeed Elahi told that three important demands of the nurses have come fore after Friday's meeting with them, which will be presented before the committee on Saturday (today) that in consequence will submit its final recommendations to the Chief Minister. Dr Saeed Elahi told that the important demands of nurses included provision of special pay package, regular and timely promotion and quashing of FIR registered against them during protest.
