Students at DHA College pay homage to Iqbal

'Iqbal Day' was held with great fervour to pay homage to the national poet, thinker and philosopher Allama Mohammed Iqbal at Defence Authority Degree College for Women Phase-VII (Extn). Dr Uzma Farman Farooqui, Head of Urdu Department, Karachi University was the chief guest of the function.
Students on the occasion presented speeches which shed light on Iqbal's poetic endeavours and philosophy. Selected poems and excerpts of the great visionary poet were also read out by the students in the function. A special presentation depicting the life and works of Allama Iqbal was presented by a student which added colour to the programme. The unique style and quality of presentation was largely appreciated by the audience.
The chief guest, Dr Uzma Farman Farooqui congratulated the students and the management on their erstwhile endeavours made to commemorate a great national hero by organising a quality programme of literary and educational significance. She stressed upon the need of familiarising the new generation with the works of Iqbal as it was the need of the day.-PR
