Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz chief Nawaz Sharif has filed a petition in the Supreme Court, seeking to place the name of former Pakistani envoy to the US, Hussain Haqqani, on the exit control list (ECL) over the memogate scandal. The petitioner submitted that Haqqani might flee the country or he be forced to leave.
He argued that if Haqqani left the country it would affect hearing of the memogate case, hence he be restrained from leaving the country by putting his name on ECL.
