I am pleased to know that the Institution of Engineers, Pakistan which came into existence with the blessings of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah in 1948 at Dhaka is holding its 44th Annual Convention from 23rd - 24th November, 2011 at Lahore.
In conjunction with this Convention, the International Seminar on "Energy Problems in South Asian Countries - Causes & Solutions" in collaboration with Federation of Engineering Institutions of South and Central Asia (FEISCA) is also being held. A large number of eminent engineers from outside and within the country particularly SAARC Countries are participating and they will read papers on important topics like Energy Crisis in the South Asian Countries and will suggest the measures how to solve this problems for the uplift of the people of the South Asian Countries.
The Institution of Engineers, a premier engineering body of qualified engineers in the country has made a substantial contribution towards the economic development of the country and the role being played by it in spreading the latest technology techniques & research amongst the engineers in commendable.
