Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court (IHC) Iqbal Hameed-ur-Rehman on Monday administered the oath from two permanent and three additional judges of the High Court in a simple but dignified ceremony. The CJ has administered oath from Justice Muhammad Anwar Khan Kasi and Justice Riaz Ahmad Khan as permanent judges while Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui, Muhammad Azeem Khan Afridi and Noor-ul-Haque Qureshi as additional judges of the Islamabad High Court.
The ceremony was held in the premises of the Islamabad High Court and attended by the Chief Election Commissioner, Justice (r) Hamid Ali Mirza, Dr Faqir Hussain, Registrar Supreme Court, Secretary Senate Raja Ameen, Federal Minister Engineer Shoukatullah and representatives of Bar and prominent lawyers. It is pertinent to mention here that the President Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday confirmed Justice Muhammad Anwar Khan Kasi and Justice Riaz Ahmed Khan as permanent Judges of the IHC and had also appointed Noor-ul-Haq N. Qureshi, Mr Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui and Muhammad Azeem Khan Afridi as Additional Judges of IHC for a period of one year.
