A petition was filed in Lahore High Court (LHC) for putting the name of Pakistan Ambassador to US, Hussain Haqqani, on Exist Control List (ECL). A citizen, Muhammad Iftikhar Hussain Rajpoot, through Barrister Iqbal Jaffery has filed the petition, stating that Haqqani sent a derogatory letter to former US military chief Mike Mullen through a US-based businessman Mansoor Ijaz against Pakistan Army and Inter Services Intelligence (ISI).
He said Haqqani had tarnished the image of both Pakistan and its armed forces and made an attempt to pledge Pakistan's sovereignty to America. The petitioner, therefore, sought initiation of high treason proceedings against him by putting his name on ECL.
