12,000 cops to provide security during Muharram

Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Ahmad Raza Tahir has ordered that no police official would leave his duty till the dispersal of last person from Muharram-ul-Haram's Majalis and processions, besides ensuring strict implementation of Moharram security plan by remaining high alert, especially till the end of all religious congregations.
CCPO also directed to ensure timely arrival of police Jawans at the duty points by providing them effective pick and drop service, along with provision of edibles and clean water for drinking. Ahmad Raza Tahir said that Lahore Police, in co-ordination with the Ulema, Public Representatives, all other related departments and agencies, would ensure comprehensive security for religious routes and places. He was talking to Shia Ulema and procession license holders in connection with peaceful conduct of Moharram-ul-Haram days.
DIG Operations Ghulam Mehmood Dogar, SSP Operations Shaukat Abbas and all Divisional SPs were also present on the occasion. CCPO said that for the foolproof security during Moharram-u-Haram all entry and exit points of the places of Majalis will be covered and roof top deployment will be made at Imam Bargahs, places of Majalis and at the route of the processions.
