Omer Morshed Chief Executive Officer Sidat Hyder Morshed Associates has said that Best Practices Day (BPD) was inspired by a passion to create a forum of learning through sharing, initiated in 2002.
This he said while addressing on the occasion of an event, organised for the purpose to celebrate the Best Practices Day (BPD) 2011 at DHA's country Golf Club. BPD event was attended by a large number of leaders and professionals of Corporate and Business sector of the country.
He said, "BPD was welcomed with open arms by the Grace of Almighty and developed successfully over the years with the support of all participants, providing organisations on ideal opportunity to share and exchange insights into their success and experiencing of achieving best practices in order to promote organisational success."
He said that in a highly competitive business climate with constant change, individual organisations often strive to excel, trying to keep up with and exceed market standards in order to distinguish themselves from others, adding that they endeavour to grow and aspire to create a better future in an increasingly competitive business environment within both the local and global realms. In order to stay ahead a win, they must steer their organisation in the right direction, keeping up with tides of change.
Mr Morshed said that Success is driven through choosing the right strategy and identifying targets to achieve. This accomplishment is largely driven through the support of organisations key assets, its people and this support can be achieved empowerment of employees, empathy to all over surroundings and rewarding commendable performance, he added.
He further said that this year's theme for Best Practices Day is steer to win, we hope to provide a platform for the participants to learn from the best practices, ideas, experiences and success stories of the best in class companies across various industries in an effort top strengthen and upgrade corporate Pakistan.
Sadia Saeed Deputy Managing Director English Biscuit Manufactures (EBM) said that this is good practice initiated by the Sidat Hyder Morshed Associates which gives us the opportunity to share and learn something special about the successful stories of best class companies.
She said that Best practices needed transparency, governance and accountability with good hearts. Social activities will lead the companies towards the success, she said. She said that EBM is the country's leading manufacturer of biscuits and cookies since 1967 with an annual sales volume and production capacity in excess of Rs 16 billion and 100,000 tons, respectively.
Waqar A Khan General Manager (HR, trainings) Pakistan State Oil (PSO) said in his speech that Pakistan's corporate and business sector is developing day by day despite many hurdles and people related with said sectors are serving the country with admirable efforts.

A documentary over the Best Practices Day's idea, preparations, struggle of team and the benefits of BPD was aired on the occasion.
Two representatives of Sidat Hyder Morshed Associates presented the presentations regarding the past celebrations of BPD, future of BPD and the survey about the BPD. The awards have also been distributed among the sponsors of the event by the representatives of Sidat Hyder Morshed Associates.
