Rental power company: Apex court's move to recover Rs 2.5 billion lauded
Pakistan Industrial and Traders Association Front (PIAF) has paid rich tributes to Supreme Court of Pakistan for ordering recovery of Rs 4.5 billion from a rental power company, saying the decision would go a long way in helping remove the menace of corruption hollowing the foundation of the country.
PIAF Chairman, Sohail Lashari in a statement on Friday said that business community has always urged the government to construct Kalabagh Dam for generating cheap and sufficient electricity in the country but the present regime has shelved the project and enhanced its dependence on costly thermal energy. He urged the Supreme Court of Pakistan to continue 'operation cleanup' against the rental power plants and also bound the government to construct dams to generate sufficient and cheap electricity in the country.
