On behalf of the HR Consulting Division at Sidat Hyder Morshed Associates, I thank you all for the patronage and support extended to us over the years for making Best Practices Day a great success. As Event Managers, Sidat Hyder feels immense pleasure at once again hosting the BPD event which provides a platform for 'learning through sharing'. BPD is an event which aims to bring together corporate Pakistan to exchange ideas and share their best practices with a view to achieve corporate excellence.
This year we celebrate a "Decade of Success" for BPD in Karachi where the pioneering event was first held in 2002. Some festive colors have been added to the event in Karachi to mark the occasion and to recap the learning experiences shared by the best in class companies. This year BPD in Karachi is more like a ceremony to remember all those who have contributed to making the event a success.
In Lahore, it is heartening to see BPD gaining momentum year on year. This year, BPD is being held for the 4th consecutive year and each year has witnessed greater interest and contributions from the corporate entities and professionals in this wonderful city.
The BPD theme for 2011 is "STEER to Win". It identifies inspirational leadership as the most important need of the hour in the corporate world as well as in all other spheres of our lives. Survival and success through these trying times is possible only by strategizing and clear goal setting, and then striving to achieve these targets through empowerment of its employees, being empathetic to stakeholders' aspirations, and linking good performance to rewards. The theme for BPD this year highlights the significance of these elements required to STEER an Organization to win and stay ahead in a highly competitive business environment.
