SZABIST Model United Nation Society (ZABMUN) in collaboration with Ministry of Youth Affairs (Government of Sindh) and United Nation Development Programme (UNDP) GEN-PROM, organised the fourth Annual International ZABMUN Conference 2011 from 10th - 13th November, 2011.
Consulate General of Switzerland, Elizabeth Bucher was the chief guest, whereas Dr Abid Rao was the keynote speaker for the opening session of the conference. Under the title of "UNITE THE PRESENT, CHALLENGE THE FUTURE", the conference discussed and explored various contemporary global issues of the world.
The CG said, "It gives me great happiness to be facing young people filled with bright and creative ideas". She concluded her speech by saying that, there is a lot of work for all of you and I hope that you guys will bring in positive change. Dr Abid Rao, also, expressed his gratitude for being part of this event. He was overwhelmed by seeing the young energetic mind that has the power to change the future.
"We cannot build a future for our youth but we can always build youth for the future", said Ibad Abbasi, General Secretary of Zabmun Kumail Raza Hemanis, Student Advisor and Faculty Member, SZABIST. He explained that this four-day conference will enable participants to learn the art of diplomacy, make new friends and discover inner capabilities and qualities that one posse; the very essence of SZABIST motto of "discover yourself".
Dr Saqib Rizavi, President SZABIST, declared the conference opening. He expressed his feelings by saying, "It gives me great pleasure to address a young and enthusiastic audience that has an eye on global issues and finger on the pulse of international relations and affairs".-PR
