Shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalander: President orders for early completion of renovation work

President Asif Ali Zardari here on Saturday directed for early completion of renovation and extension work of the historic shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalander in Sehwan Sharif saying that the work on the dome and the shrine be completed by January 30 next.
He asked the Sindh government to ensure security and cleanliness in and around the shrine to facilitate the visitors as well as maintain sanctity of the place. During a meeting which reviewed progress about renovation and extension work of the shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalander at Bilawal House the President also called for ensuring quality and transparency in construction work.
Provincial Ministers Pir Mazharul Haq, Murad Ali Shah, Ayaz Soomro, Jam Saifullah Dharejo, Sharjeel Memon, MNA Fauzia Wahab, Sharmila Farooqui and senior officials also attended the meeting. The President asked the federal and the provincial governments to ensure release of necessary funds needed for completion of renovation work. It may be recalled that during previous meeting on the subject it was decided that both the federal and the provincial governments would share the cost of rectification work of dome and Dhamal court. The President during the meeting emphasised the need for preserving the cultural monuments for researchers and for those who want to know, learn and experience the cultural heritage and Sufism.
