Four killed at Rawalpindi Kacheri premises

Fear and terror have gripped the surrounding areas of Pindi Sessions Court after four men were gunned down as a result of rival group attack on the prisoners of their opponent party. Well-placed sources told Business Recorder here on Saturday that four accused in lock-up of Waris Khan Police station were on way to the Pindi Sessions Court for hearing when at around 10:30am four armed attackers opened fire on them in the vicinity of Sessions Court and escaped from the scene.
Three of the four accused died on the spot along with a passer-by", sources added. The two rival groups were running gambling dens and entered in a dispute over a bargain several months ago. The two groups were at loggerheads for long. Those accused who were killed as a result of old enmity included Chaudhry Shaukat, Chaudhry Arshad, Chaudhry Ghalib and the name of the passer-by who lost his life was Iqbal.
According to the sources, it was really shocking that the policemen who were responsible for the security of these four accused, tried to escape soon after the incident while firing continued for 10-15 minutes. "The dead bodies have been shifted to nearby District Headquarters Hospital for post-mortem. Yet the post-mortem will not be conducted till the arrival of the legal heirs of the victims", sources disclosed.
