Equities move both ways on LSE

Published Updated

Equities moved both ways amid mixed sentiments on the Lahore Stock Exchange (LSE) on Friday and finally stayed in positive zone on account of fresh buying select shares. The LSE-25 index was marginally improved by 2.51 points and was ended at 3178.47 points against 3175.96 points of Thursday, while transaction volume was squeezed to 942,455 shares, as compared to 969,974 shares traded a day earlier.
The market was opened on a healthy sign and stayed in positive zone during first trading session. However, bullish sentiments could not remain intact and the equities started declining in the second session due to intra-day profit taking by the investors who get out of the market ahead of weekend.
Pakistan Oil Fields, OGDC, PPL, Attock Refinery, Kot Addu Power, MCB Bank, United Bank, National Bank, Bank Alfalah, Fauji Fertiliser, Engro Corporation and Lucky Cement registered fresh buying that kept the market in green zone in the first session. The investors preferred offloading in the second session due to which marginal decline was seen in Fauji Fertiliser Bin Qasim, Fatima Fertiliser, Nishat Mills, Bank Al-Habib, D.G. Khan Cement, Pakistan Reinsurance, Arif Habib Corporation and Dewan Salman Fibre.
