Assets of corrupt politicians: Imran announces formation of cell
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has on Tuesday hit out at President Asif Ali Zardari, Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif, as he announced the formation of a cell that will disclose true assets of corrupt political parties, including of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). He was addressing a press conference at residence of Justice Javed Iqbal, which was held to announce the induction of Allama Iqbal's grandson, Waleed Iqbal into the PTI.
Imran Khan said the assets publicly declared by PML-N were fake. He reiterated that President Zardari and the Sharif brothers would never reveal their true assets, as they would then be compelled to face charges of corruption on declaration. While hailing the decision made by Iqbal to join the party, he said he hoped to see new faces joining his party who were sincere and hardworking. "The party would field 1000 candidates in the next general elections and every person has to disclose all his assets before joining PTI," he added.
