Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 146,356 tonnes of cargo comprising 118,955 tonnes of import cargo and 27,401 tonnes of export cargo including 7,017 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Saturday. The total import cargo of 118,955 tonnes comprised of 63,834 tonnes of containerised cargo; 10 tonne of general cargo; 7,111 tonnes of bulk cargo and 48,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 27,401 tonnes comprised of 24,835 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,155 tonnes of general cargo and 1,411 tonnes of bulk cargo. Three ships sailed out to sea during the reported period. Six vessels are currently at the berths.

The total import cargo of 35,459 tonnes includes 12,528 tonnes of edible palm oil; 8,910 tonnes of canola seeds; 5,632 tonnes of phosphoric acid and 8,389 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo includes 19,311 tonnes of containerised cargo.
Three ships namely MV Hurst Point, MV Pisti and MT Sea Sky sailed out to sea during last 24 hours, while two more ships namely CV Dubai Express and MT North Contender are expected to sail on Saturday morning. A total number of six vessels CV Dubai Express, MV Hurst Point, MV Pisti, MT Chemroad Journey, MT North Contender and MV STX Vivo are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, phosphoric acid, canola seeds and palm oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Four ships namely Stolt Sun, Kiran Africa, Al-Khalidia and MSC Natalia with palm oil, sunflower seeds, furnace oil and containers respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. Two ships namely MT Al-Khalidia and CV MSC Natalia are due to arrive on Saturday at Port Qasim.
