Israel launches two Gaza air raids

Published Updated

Israeli aircraft carried out two air raids on the Gaza Strip without causing casualties on Saturday, Palestinian security services and witnesses said. They said the raids hit areas near Khan Yunis in the south of the territory controlled by the Islamist movement Hamas. An Israeli military spokesman, contacted by AFP, said an air strike targeted Khan Yunis without giving details.
On Thursday, two Palestinians were killed in an air strike in the northern Gaza Strip. Israel said its air force targeted a "terrorist squad" that had opened fire on troops in a border area.
