Sindh Bachayo Committee, an alliance of Sindhi nationalist parties, on Saturday announced that it would observe the 'black day' on Sunday, November 6, against non-implementation of Comissionerate system in the province. This announcement was made by Jalal Mehmood, head of Sindh Bachayo Committee (SBC) at a press conference at Hyder Manzil here on Saturday.
Except Riaz Ahmed Chandio, chairman of Jeay Sindh Mahaz (JSM), no other head of any nationalist party attended the press conference. Office-bearers of Karachi of Sindh Taraqi Pasand Party (STP), Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM) and others were present in the conference.
Jalal Shah said that with expiration of Sindh Local Government Ordinance (SLGO) 2001, Comissionerate system has been automatically restored in the province but Sindh government has not issued a notification in this regard yet. He termed this move of PPP-led Sindh government as conspiracy against Sindh and Sindhis and announced to stage strong protest against it.
He said that all nationalist parties, sitting in Sindh Bachayo Committee, will do the protest on 6th November in every nook and corner of Sindh and people will place black flags on their homes. He said that non-implementation of Comissionerate system, which was passed by Sindh assembly, is totally illegal. He appealed to the Chief Justice of Supreme Court of Pakistan to take notice of this constitutional crime of Sindh government.
He warned the MPAs that if they will vote the anti-Sindh local government bill, the people of province will knock their doors and start protest against them. He said that SBC would register its protest against SLGO 2001, on 19th of November 2011, in front of Governor House and millions of people will gather in Karachi on that day.
Riaz Chandio said that nexus of Asif Zardari, Rehman Malik and Altaf Hussein would lead Sindh to separation on urban and rural basis which would not be accepted by the Sindhis at any cost. He said that Mazhar-ul-Haq is following the path of his grand father Pir Ilahi Bux, which had administratively separated Karachi from Sindh and he is also doing this in these days. Earlier, the meeting of SBC was held with Jalal in the chair. All participants condemned the dual policy of PPP about local government system and demanded the restoration of Commissionerate system without further delay.
