The meeting to review security arrangement on Eid-ul-Azha 2011 in the light of check list received from the Punjab govt held under the chairmanship of Divisional Commissioner Tahir Husain. The meeting was also attended by RPO Aftab Cheema and the officers of relevant department.
The Chair and RPO directed DCOs and DPOs of the districts to ensure holding the meeting of District Intelligence Co-ordination Committee, peace committees and public participation committees at Thana level to consider measures for maintenance of peace and sectarian harmony.
It was also directed to the concerned officers to maintain foolproof security arrangements at Eidgahs, mosques and all other places where Eid prayers would be offered must be ensured. The meeting stressed upon all the officers of law enforcing agencies for effective deployment of police pickets and deployment of force at roof tops near important mosques, places where prayers of Eid-ul-Azha would be held.
