Citizen Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) and Anti Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) on Friday claimed to have busted a gang of kidnappers. According to official sources, the family of a businessman, Qamaruddin, who was kidnapped on October, 21 2011 from the jurisdiction of Airport Police Station, received a demand for Rs 2 million ransom on October, 22 2011.
Upon this, a joint team headed by Shaukat Suleman was constituted that started surveillance of the accused. They said the deal was finalised at Rs 0.5 million and the hostage was released on October 31, 2011. Thereafter, the joint team raided the hideout of the accused and arrested three kidnappers namely Muhammad Amin son of Yar Muhammad Merani, Sain Dad son of Mir Muhammad and Rajab Ali son of Mohabbat Ali from Khosa Goth near Abdullah Goth Malir and recovered two TT pistols from their possession.
