At least six persons sustained injuries when two unidentified motorcyclists hurled a hand grenade at a snooker club located in Zikri Para near Juna Masjid in the limits of Kalri police station. According to police and eyewitnesses, soon after the attack, LEAs personnel and rescuers of welfare organisations rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to Civil and Lyari General hospitals.
They said that unknown bike riders hurled a grenade at the snooker club that left six persons namely Asif, 25, son of Akbar, Abu Bakar, 60, son of Ramzan, Nawaz, 23, son of Younus, Babar, 20, Mustafa, 50 and Urs Baba son Mohammad Hussain injured. They said the experts of BDS were examining the spot. They suspected Lyari gangsters might be involved in this incident. Following the attack, tension griped the area while heavy contingent of police and rangers were deployed to avert any untoward incident. SSP South Naeem Sheikh said two unidentified riders threw grenade at a snooker club, which was owned by Hakeem Gawadari. The accused managed to flee from the spot.
