Torching of party offices: PML-N activists stage protest demonstration outside KPC

In a rare fashion, Pakistan Muslim League-N on Monday hit out at President Asif Ali Zardari and implicated him in the violence, which it says, was initiated against the 'N' workers across Sindh. The chants of PML-N's charged workers echoed the surroundings of Karachi Press Club (KPC) with slogans "go Zardari go", "enemy of democracy Zardari", etc.
They were also carried banners and placards, which read, "we condemn the torching of PML-N offices in Nawab Shah". Scores of activists at the protest demonstration, which primarily was a show of PML-N Youth Wing was also attended by workers of PML-N Women Wing and party's senior members, including Chief Organiser Saleem Zia and members of Central Working Committee Ismail Rao and Zain Ansari.
Speaking at the protest demonstration, Saleem Zia said his party's workers in different parts of Sindh were tortured at the behest of President Zardari. He said the PML-N had held protests in 42 different parts of the province including Karachi against Zardari who, he said, was behind the violence to suppress his chief rival political party's workers and destroy their offices.
He also warned PML-Q, PML-F and MQM and other political parities. He said President Zardari's rule was worse than the dictatorial regimes of the past. "Even in the dictatorial regimes of the past political activities were banned but offices of parties were not burnt but during Zardari's government they were set ablaze," he said.
Zia said his party workers would not lose their patience, adding "Zardari's coercive tactics will not deter his party workers rather such suppressive attempts will increase their courage". He warned the ruling coalition of severe consequence, the policy "Zardari group" had undertaken in Sindh province.
Zain Ansari said, "we see him [Zardari] not more than a dacoit and thief," adding Zardari had wrongly used the policy of reconciliation introduced by former chairperson of PPP, Benazir Bhutto. He vowed to defend his party and said, "PML-N can never vanish in the face of suppression".
Chief Organiser of PML-N Youth Wing Sindh, Raja Ansari alleged Zardari for torching their offices in the province. He said police had picked up his party workers in Nawab Shah and tortured them. He warned if PPP did not stop setting ablaze his party offices, the PML-N workers would stage a sit-in at the Chief Minister House in the next few days.
