With the latest consignment of goods that included food hampers and tents for the flood affected people of Sindh, the total amount donated by Siemens for this catastrophe stands at Rs 7.5 million. A statement here on Friday said that this is in addition to Rs 41.8 million aid provided last year for the 2010 floods.
It said that the flood relief aid was delivered in three instalments to Pakistan Navy, as they had the reach and manpower to distribute aid in a timely fashion to the affected people. The last consignment was handed over to Commander Jawad Haider Khawaja of special services group Pakistan Navy by the Managing Director of Siemens Pakistan, Ali Hamdani. Earlier, a briefing was given on Siemens role in the natural disasters in Pakistan including the earthquake of 2005 and the floods in 2011 and 2010.
