Shanghai copper rises

Copper rose 2.6 percent on Thursday after eurozone leaders agreed to boost the region's rescue fund and on optimism that top consumer China may move towards looser monetary policy. The most-active January copper contract on the Shanghai Futures Exchange rose 1.4 percent to 58,040 yuan ($9,135.41) per tonne, after rising 0.9 percent on Wednesday.
