More polio cases have been reported in the city if compared to previous year which showed that the last 108 polio eradication campaigns were not proved successful, told DCO Karachi Roshan Ali Shaikh on Tuesday In this regard, he said that 109th Polio Eradication Campaign has been started now in which 5,513 teams and 200 supervisors would take part.
DCO Karachi said that the polio virus is now eliminated from rest of the world except in four countries including Pakistan. In some areas of the city locals are not allowing polio eradication teams to administer polio vaccine to their children. He directed officers to get police help for making this campaign successful and also remove any delusions in the minds of people about polio vaccination.
