Verification period of voter lists: Balochistan Assembly demands extension
The members of the Balochistan Assembly in Tuesday session unanimously passes a resolution on Nadra lists and demanded for extension in verification period of voter lists for more two months. The assembly sitting was started with Deputy Speaker Syed Matiullah Agha in chair about 40 minutes late behind its schedule.
Ministers including Sardar Muhammad Aslam Bezinjo, Cap. Abdul Khaliq Achakzai (Retd), Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi and Mir Hamal Kalamati and MPA Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail moved a joint resolution, which reads that voters lists of Balochistan compiled through Nadra were not complete properly, while they had also not contain house number. The names of voters of a union council had been showed in other union council in these lists.
The resolution demanded of the federal government to make the Federal Election Commission bound to extend verification period of Balochistan's voter's lists for two months. Delivering his speech, Buledi said that credit went to the incumbent government for introducing 18th Amendment into the Constitution, making Election Commission a complete independent institution and expelling over 30 million bogus and fake votes from voters lists.
However, alleged Narda for committing great mistakes while compiling new lists. He demanded of the federal government to make Nadra bound to include house number, Muhalla and union council in new lists. Minister Abdul Rehman Jamali criticised Nadra for poor performance in Balochistan. Minister Eng. Zamarak Khan Piralizai alleged that some elements in Nadra used to include the names of voters of a union council in voter's lists of other union council. He alleged that people who did not belong to Balochistan were being provided facility to get computerised national identity card from Nadra Balochistan but the local people were being denied of the facility. Minister Jan Ali Changezi claimed that Nadra had written wrong names and addresses in the CNICs of local people.
