A gang of armed robber on Tuesday looted Rs 5.2 million from a private bank in broad daylight in the limits of Rizvia police station. According to police, at around 9:25am, some five to six unidentified robbers entered in a private bank located at Sanitary Market, Nazimabad and held all employees and security guards hostages at gunpoint.
They said the robbers, who looted Rs 5.2 million from a bank, finished their swift operation within just 25 minutes and managed to flee with weapons of the security guards and CCTV devices. SHO Irfan Haider suspected the involvement of bank's employees and the security guards namely Naeem and Ilyas in this incident.
He said that all bandits, who wore Shalwar Kameez, appeared to be Pashto speaking as they had demanded the lockers keys from guards in Pashto. The case 316/11 was registered on complaint of bank manager Khawar Abbas. It is pertained to mention that this incident has moved the counter of bank heist to 14 in current year.
