380KV transmission line in Makkah: Pakistani, Saudi companies sign contract
National Power Construction Company (NPCC) of Pakistan and Saudi Electric Company (SEC) on Monday signed a contract worth Saudi Riyals 288 million for 380KV transmission line in Makkah. The contract was signed by the Managing Director of NPCC Muhammad Ajaz Malik and President and CEO of Saudi Electric Company (SEC) Engineer Ali Saleh Barak at the SEC headquarters here.
The Ambassador of Pakistan Muhammad Naeem Khan also attended the signing ceremony. Prior to the signing ceremony, Ambassador Naeem Khan held a meeting with Engineer Ali Saleh Barak and discussed possibilities of further co-operation in power/energy sector between the two countries.
Engineer Ali Saleh Barak expressed appreciation for the professional competence of Pakistani companies working in the Kingdom. It may be mentioned that NPCC, which is working under the administrative control of Ministry of Water and Power, has been engaged in execution of power projects on turnkey basis in Saudi Arabia since 1977. The award of the current project is yet another milestone in the success of NPCC in its efforts to expand its operations in Saudi Arabia.
