Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 75,947 tonnes of cargo comprising 56,693 tonnes of import cargo and 19,254 tonnes of export cargo including 3,882 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 56,693 tonnes comprised of 25,750 tonnes of containerised cargo; 4,890 tonne of general cargo; 14,053 tonnes of bulk cargo and 12,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 19,254 tonnes comprised of 16,502 tonnes of containerised cargo; 705 tonnes of general cargo; 547 tonnes of bulk cargo and 1,500 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Five ships sailed out to sea during the reported period. Seven vessels are currently at the berths.

A total number of two vessels MV Amira Dina and CV Maersk Kentucky are currently occupying berths to load/offload cement and containers respectively during last 24 hours. A ship namely Alaska-II with cement is currently at the outer anchorage. No ships due to arrive at Port Qasim on Monday.
