The Department of Transport, Khyber Pakhunkhwa has approved new routes for CNG 14 seated vehicles and asked the authorities concerned for inviting the express of interest (EoI) from the reputed and experienced local and international firms and companies for the additionally notified routes.
The step has been taken in line with the vision of improving urban transportation system in Peshawar. The approval was given in a meeting here at transport department with Provincial Minister for Information, Mian Iftikhar Hussein in the chair. Others who attended were included Secretary Transport Azmat Hanif Orakzai and Director Transport Aamad Ali Lohani.
The minister on this occasion was informed that the department was well prepared in this regard and EoI for the same would be sought through advertisement within a few days. Similarly, TORs could be obtained from the office of business development units transport department Shami Road Peshawar on any working day on payment of Rs 2000/-.
These bus routes would be first from Peshawar Bus Terminal to Hayatabad Phase-VI via GT Road, Pir Zakori Bridge, Ring road, Gulbahar No.4, Lahori gate, Kohati gate, FC Pump, Qayyum Stadium, Swati Gate, and Pushtakhara Ring road, The second route would be from General Bus Stand Kohat to Peshawar Board via Gulshan Rehman Colony Ring road, Landi Arbab, Canal road, Naway Kellay, Pawakka and Speena Warhai.
The third from General Bus Stand Kohat to Dir Bala Warsak road via Gulshan Rehman Colony Ring road, Hazarkhwani Square, Zakori Bridge and M.I Overhead bridge Ring road, Charsadda Adda, Dinbahar Colony, Canal Raod, Tableeghi Markaz and Hassan Ghari and the four from General Bus Kohat to Hayatabad Phase-VI via Gulshan Rehaman Colony, Civil Quarters, Qayyum Stadium, Swati Gate, Pushtakhara Rind Road and Zarghauni Mashjid. The minister was told that a 10-year transport plan for the Peshawar city has been planned under which the city would be distributed into 88 routes and would be implemented phase-wise. The meeting also discussed in detail the affairs of Peshawar bus terminal and decided to initiate steps for revenue generation and ensure maximum facilities to the passengers.
