The Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday disposed of Babar Awan's application against Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah for his reported statement that the former federal law minister was liable to be killed. However, the SC said in its observation that Dr Babar Awan may approach the relevant forum if aggrieved by the decision.
The verdict has been authored by Justice Ghulam Rabbani, who retired recently, after hearing the application of Babar Awan in his chamber against Rana Sanaullah. "In my view, going through the petition of Dr Babar Awan and the reply furnished by Rana Sanuallah to which no rejoinder has been filed and after hearing learned Additional Advocate General Punjab, there appears to be no convincing reason to proceed further on this petition," he wrote in his decision.
