The European Union has reached a deal on a law to ban "naked" or uncovered credit default swaps (CDS) linked to sovereign debt, a European Commission spokeswoman said on Tuesday. "There is agreement," the spokeswoman said. The deal was reached after a meeting of representatives of the European Parliament and EU states who have joint say on the law which also regulates short-selling of shares.
